What do we mean by membership?

Membership in the church is different from joining a club or organization.  Membership in the church is based on relationships.  Membership means belonging to the body, being a connected part, having a purpose to carry out with others.  Membership means that a follower of Christ agrees to allow the elders of the church to provide helpful spiritual accountability.  Each of us needs to be encouraged and cared for at times.  And we, in turn, need to uphold others in their faith.  That’s what Christ meant when He commanded His people to become members of a local church.

How do I become a member?

Adults – If you are interested in joining the fellowship at Cornerstone Church, or if you’re just investigating the possibility, we offer our Considering Cornerstone series at various times throughout the year.  Each series is composed of six, one-hour classes that help you know about our church and to become a part of our life together.  These classes are a practical and enjoyable means for you to meet new friends and for us to get to know you.  Watch the bulletin for information on the next Considering Cornerstone class or contact the church office (772-1000) for more information.

Communicants (ages 12-14) – Communicants Class is an important step in the spiritual life of students ages 12 to 14.  This class lays a vital foundation in preparation for church membership.  Classes meet for twelve, one-hour classesContact the church office at 772-1000 x17 if you would like more information, or to register your child.
